Joining the 2023 Blues and BBQ Festival lineup is Petra Rijnbeek. Festival-goers can anticipate an unforgettable set of ‘blues magic’ as Petra graces the stage.
Petra Rijnbeek was a late bloomer to the music industry starting her music career at 30 but she made up for it and found herself getting booked out festival after festival taking her to the Islands, Australia, America, and South Africa.
It was in Australia she met the late Renee Geyer and toured opening for her throughout Australia and then here in NZ. While performing in Perth she met Hot Chocolate and ended up singing for them at two concerts.
Petra has also had the pleasure of singing with the Paris Swing Orchestra, Lilian Boute and Charmaine Neville (Neville Brothers).
Locally Petra has sung for the Maori King, Dame Trelise Cooper, Sir Graeme Hart and the Suktan of Brunei and she is a regular on the Auckland music scene.
With blues being at the heart of her passion for music she is excited to be part of this year’s festival line up bringing her sultry velvet tones to a soul rock blues repertoire.
