The Blues News was formed in Whakatane back in 2015 where they first appeared at the BOP (Bay of Plenty) Blues Festival, Rotorua.  They are excited to be back at the new look BOP Blues festival  on the Village Green  Saturday 26th November, Rotorua.

The band are also keen to try out some of those BBQ Spare Rib’s with plenty of BBQ spicy sauce!

There have a couple of line-up changes over the year’s but band spokesperson, original band member and drummer Reuben Paraha said, the band has always had a strong core representation of excellent musicians contributing their talent to the entertainment value of the band. The band has always been well received wherever and whenever they have performed.

Each group member has a ton of musical experience, all having played in different bands over the years, performed shows and theatre musicals. But, it’s

“The Blues” that have brought these musicians together. The engine room of the band, bass guitarist, lead guitarist and drummer are no slouche’s, all have performed at high level gigs around Aotearoa consistently and the engine room is really excited about being included to perform at this year’s Blues and BBQ festival, they will be belting out some riff’s to some old Blues favourites, crowd pleasers.

They are even more excited to present the very talented “Eve Lyford” on vocals. Eve has appeared in many Theatre Whakatane Inc musical productions, in lead and support roles. She is an on-call touring backing vocalist and is working on several stage and club gig’s in Auckland.

Eve has just released her first Single as a Solo artist, the song is called “Gotta Let Go ”is Eves first self composed original song which was released on 22nd October (follow Eve on Facebook Eve Kelly and on Instagram There is a musical video to accompany the single. Eve’s amazing vocal ability adds a fantastic dynamic to “The Blues News” on stage performance.
